Fotografie is mijn lust en mijn leven. Ik ben gedeeltelijk autodidact. Heb na enkele jaren mezelf de techniek en de tactiek aangeleerd te hebben, me op verschillende cursussen en workshops gestort.
Mijn inspiratie doe ik op uit de natuur. De kunstenaars die ik zeer bewonder en waar ik inspiratie uit put zijn Yvens, Weston, Sexton en Adams, maar ook Sieff, Ommer en Gnade. De invloed van de eerste vier is zeker terug te vinden in mijn landschapsfotografie, de bewondering van de laatste drie inspireert me in mijn mensenfotografie. Verder word ik sterk beinvloed door de landschappelijke kijk van de impressionistische schilders.....
Mijn landschapsfotografie probeer ik bewust te reduceren tot werk uit Nederland. Bij mijn figuurfotografie speelt natuur en landschap een grote rol. Ik probeer een krachtig mensfiguur neer te zetten, zowel in de studio als in het landschap zelf. in beide speelt het organische een rol, natuurlijke processen vind ik erg belangrijk....

I live in Tholen, a small town in the south of the Netherlands.
Photography is my ruling passion.
I am partially an autodidact.
After learning skill and tactics of photography all by myself, I enthousiasticly followed some courses and workshops with some renowned photographers.
Source of my inspiration no doubt is nature.
Artists I admire and who inspire me, are Yvens (a landscape photographer out of the Netherlands), Sieff, Weston, Adams and Sexton, but also photographers of the female beauty, Ommer and Gnade. Certainly you may find the influence of these photographers in my landscape and human photographs.
Besides I admire and am influenced also by the impressionists, Van Gogh, Renoir and Gauguin.
My landscape photography I try consciously to reduce to work in the Netherlands.
Within my figure photography nature and landscape are very important. I try to put down a powerful human figure, as well in studio as in landscape itself. In both situations the organic idea is important, man (or mostly woman in my photographs) must fit in the natural surroundings.....
